Q: Can anyone attend the Hillcrest Hustle?
A: YES, everyone is welcome. Community members, family members, grandparents, siblings of Richfield students, teachers, neighbors, school administrators, avid runners and walkers.
Q: When is early bird registration deadline?
A: September 14, 2018
Q: Who needs to register for the Family Fun Run or 5K?
A: Everyone who plans to participate (walk or run).
Q: What does the registration fee pay for? Does that money go directly to Richfield Elementary?
A: Registration fees cover race day T-shirts, bibs, ribbons for all participants under 18, signs, timing chips, trophies, etc.
Q: What is the money being raised for?
A: All proceeds go toward providing innovative instructional strategies and tools for the students at Richfield Elementary.
Q: If I can’t attend the Hillcrest Hustle on race day, should I still turn in my student’s donation form?
A: Yes. 100% of the money raised from the student’s donation raising efforts goes to Richfield Elementary PTA.
Q: Should I turn in the donation forms and money at the same time?
Q: When are donation forms and money due? Who should the check be made out to?
A: September 27. Put your child’s donation form and money into an envelope and mark it “Hillcrest Hustle donations” and give to your teacher. Checks should be written to Richfield PTA.
Q: Are you collecting donations based on how many miles my child will run?
A: No. Money collected from the student’s donation forms is not contingent upon them participating on race day.
Q: I heard parking will be difficult the day of the race. Is this true?
A: We encourage people to carpool whenever possible, as parking will be tight the day of the race. Please plan to arrive no later than 8:15am.
Q: When is packet pick-up?
A: Early Packet Pick-Up will be on Friday, October 5 from 4-6:30pm at Richfield Elementary Gymnasium. Please try to pick up your race day packet on this day, as it will help with the potential long lines the morning of the race. Packets include race bibs and T-shirts. On race day (10/7), packets will be available for pick up starting at 7:30am.
Q: Will there be an opportunity to buy additional race day T-shirts?
A: Yes. When you register for the 5K or Family Fun Run, there will be a prompt to ask if you want to purchase additional T-Shirts. Additional T-shirts are $10.
Q: Do we receive swag bags?
A: No. However, your registration includes a T-shirt, race bib, and timing chips that are embedded in the bib for those participating in the 5K.
Q: Can I register the morning of the race?
A: Yes. Unless the race sells out prior to race day. T-shirts will be available on race day for same day registrants only while supplies last.
Q: If my 2-year-old plans to be in a stroller for the family fun run, does he/she need to be registered?
A: No. However, if your child plans to participate, then you will need to register them.
Q: Is the course stroller friendly?
A: Yes. It is a paved path.
Q: Who receives a ribbon?
A: All participants under age 18.
Q: Will there be food and water available after the race?
A: Yes. There will be a generous amount of free post-race snacks provided by local businesses.
